About Me

Having been a Registered General Nurse for 30 years, I have a profound interest in the health of my clients on a physical, mental, emotional and spiritual level. I have worked in several areas of the NHS, but for the last 10 years of my Nursing career, I worked in a hospice, as a Staff Nurse and then as a Sister.

During my time there I studied at a hospice in Derbyshire, where Hypnotherapy is used with wonderful results. My interest grew and I decided to train as a Clinical Hypnotherapist, following a new direction, whilst still being able to use many of the skills I developed in my previous roles. I chose to seek out a trainer who had also been a qualified health care professional.

I am fully qualified and registered with the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council and the National Hypnotherapy Society. I am also qualified in EMDR (Eye Movement De-sensitisation & Reprocessing). I am a Reiki Master Practitioner and a Well-being Coach.

Over the past few years I have become more aware, through reading and attending courses, of the connection between the mind and the body and the effect one can have on the other. This helps me to consider the person as a whole, rather than just the symptoms or concerns they attend with.

As well as my healthcare experience I have been involved in several sporting activities, including Tae Kwon Do (I achieved my black belt in 2010), British Military Fitness, cycling, hill walking and skiing.
